Let us take a bird’s eye view to the plot of the episode.

Book Plot:

Mahishmati kingdom was somehow running on a shortage of food and grains. So Kashi, the minister who is managing grain supplies decided to prioritize the citizens of Mahishmati to get the same. But, that seems fair right? What is the issue here?

Well, before many years there was a battle between Mahishmati and Prayag and Mahishmati won the war. Since then the citizens of Prayaag automatically became citizens of Mahishmati.

Neither the natives of Mahishmati have considered them their equals, nor the citizens of Prayag considered Mahishmati citizens as their fellows. There is always some silent tension remain between them and it keeps bursting many times. Often there were some small clashes between the groups of Mahishmati citizens and Prayag citizens happened.

This time also, the situation is ignited as the people from Prayag were asked to wait for the grain supply. They will get it only after it is distributed to Mahishmati natives. The same is being happened since last three days and now the Prayagis (the natives of Prayag) are desperate. They have some heated argument with minister Kashi which was resulted into a riot like situation. Prayagis attacked Kashi and his bodyguards and ultimately the forces of Mahishmati are called, as Prayagis started looting the grain warehouse. While the soldiers of Mahishmati were able to take over the situation, Kashi was murdered in the clash!

Now there is rage between Mahishmati native and Prayagis as Mahishmati natives are asking for the death penalty to the killers of Kashi. The person who is charged with the kill was a Prayagi leader and if he is going to get the death penalty, the riots and chaos in the kingdom are inevitable.

So, what is the solution? How will the situation be handled? The answers lie in the rest of the episode and you need to explore it to know the answers 🙂

Views and Reviews:

Episode 8 of Baahubali: The Lost Legends talks about a very important issue. We often consider that the war ends with the victory of one side and the defeat of the other (or sometimes when the peace-treaty is implemented). But does it actually? What about the families of the soldiers who either lost their lives or met with fatal injuries?

Also when one Kingdom wins over the other, the defeated one gets dissolved into the victorious one, at least in terms of boundaries. And it is going to result in continuous chaos and daily clashes. Because people from both the sides are seeing each other as their enemies! There is no humbleness for each other. The people from the defeated sides, especially the soldiers who play the duties at important places in their own kingdom are naturally not given same important position(s) in the new kingdom. For example bodyguards of the killed defeated king will never be given the job of a bodyguard of the king who won due to two reasons. One, the victorious king may already have his bodyguards and two, how can you trust your enemies soldier for such an important position?

It will definitely create a lot of tricky situations and eventually, there remain a large part of the people from the defeated kingdom jobless.

Joblessness leads to poor lifestyle and hunger. And such thing leads to riots and restlessness among the people.

But, had you seen that it is talked in books/magazines or any other media at large extent?

In that context, this episode is definitely one of the most important episodes of Baahubali: The Lost Legends TV Series. I will rather say it is one of the most important TV Series episodes.

In terms of script and dialogs, this episode got the best in the segment and you will enjoy watching it throughout. You will also see that during such tricky times, there are people who behave like traitors and work on to do the things for their own personal gain, regardless of what the society had to lose. This episode explores one of the key-points which explore true characters of Baahubali and Bhallaladeva. In order to avoid spoilers, I cannot reveal who does what, but the readers are smart enough to deduce 🙂

At the same time, this episode focuses on one fact that the justice must have to be done at any cost. And a true justice may not be blind towards the facts, proofs, situations and mainly the intentions. The dilemma felt by Baahubali is often felt by us (may be in different extent) at various times in life. And that lets the episode to built an emotional connection with the viewer.

The only thing which lacks in quality is the animation. Being part of Baahubali series, this series is also expected to have better quality animation. It is quite possible that the children may not see any problem in animation quality but young adults and adults will surely find it lack the quality expected. We must say that the sketches of Mahishmati Royal Palace and some characters are good. But, it all fails when you see the characters doing movements.

Episode 3: The Royal Visit Part 02
Episode 4: Blood for Blood
Episode 5: Tiger By The Tail

Episode 7: A Secret Life

Summary:

Overall, a nice episode to explore which has its own positives and negatives as discussed above. The series is getting more interesting with each passing episode and it will appeal young adults and children mainly.
