In continuity of the news of acqusition, we would like to inform you that reddit.com have acquired redditgifts.com.

Dan McComas and Jessica Moreno started redditgifts in response to a community call for a massive gift exchange for the 2009 holiday season. Till date around , 42,771 people in 106 countries have spent $1,458,891 on gifts! According to official post at reddit.com both of them are now allowed working full time at reddit (mainly on this venture itself); so we won’t be seeing much changes in the functionality of the same.

In a summary of changes the following can be included; Dan and Jessica will have more time to devote to improve teh venture of gift exchanges, Dan will serve as the product manger while Jessic will be the community manager for redditgifts.com. There is no date announced but reddit have shown interest in making redditgifts.com an open source portal. They are looking forward to make the user interface even easier and arranging local meetups periodically, but nothing confirmed yet.
