So let us start, with thanking Anuj for sparing some time for this Author Interview. And jump to the Q/A session:

What is the best perk of traveling according to you?

The best perk is the spirit of adventure and the thrill of exploring the unknown . The Peace that one gets and the realisation that happens once you travel .You begin to understand who you really are .

Recently you have covered Kumbh Mela. Was it the first time you’ve visited a Kumbh Mela? How was your experience?

Yes, it was my first experience of Kumbh and I can’t get over it. It was magnificent for the first time I got the feel of the real India, the India that lives in small towns and cities. The vastness of Kumbh was awe-inspiring, I had the Shahi Snaan at the Mauni Amavasya. The havan’s the sadhus and the Sangam the energies they invigorated me and were food for the soul. It was a grand Mela and the sheer size was breathtaking. I Was happy to spend twenty days there.

What is your favorite travel destination outside of India?

I enjoy doing Scuba Diving in Maldives that is one place I enjoy going to and of course the Safari at Kenya that was another great experience.

Do you like to travel light?

Yes, I have a Camera Bag that carries my Cannon mark 5, Gopro 5 and Apple MacBook this is around 7 Kg in weight. The clothes and other stuff is in my Delsey Bag which has wheels so I can pull it around. I have a premium leather bag brand Dunhill that I sling around my shoulders that had my credit cards, money and other important travel documents. That is all I need and is enough for me to travel all around the world. For money transactions, I use internet banking or international currency cards.

What are the tips you would like to give to travel enthusiasts?

Just do it don’t think about money resources or anything else, just pack your bags and trust nature, just travel. You will see that life has no goal, no destination the journey itself is the goal. You will meet friends and foes alike on the way, who will help you on the way. Feed you, clothe you, and even keep you inter abode.

There is more good in the world than evil and good will prevail in the end. Look at the baba’s and the sadhus all they do is travel from one place to another and they have been doing it for decades. To an ordinary man, this looks like madness, just wandering, no purpose, no goal, no ambition no need for either success or failure, because at the end of the day they are all irrelevant. The sadhus don’t think about money, how they will reach their destination without money or resources and they still keep traveling.

Great Sadhus and spiritual teachers like Christ, Buddha, and Vivekananda were all travelers they were the original travel bloggers, I want to be a travel buddha, a travel Jesus and a travel Socrates that is the spirit one should have while traveling, total freedom no bondage, no attachment neither to the place or the people one encounters . If you build attachment you will want to stay at that place, then you will not be able to travel.

I never get attached to the place, not the people that I meet, therefore I keep moving. The moment attachment comes you start clinging to things, to people, to places that increases bondage and a sense of belonging, this will slow you down in your travel journey. There is nothing that I get attached to I just keep moving.

According to you, what we must carry while travelling?

Camera Bag, Travel bag, A sling bag for documents, credit cards and money. A winter jacket, gloves, and muffler if going to a cool place. Mobile and laptop; thats all you need.

How do you keep yourself energized during travel? As your travelling schedule must be very tight.

I do pranayam and deep berthing. But the most important in the dynamic meditation I do in the morning, I learnt that from OSHO it is very invigorating, it is like a drug. Try the Nathbraham and Kundalini meditation of OSHO they will keep your energies charged. Think of your body as a vessel that carries energies, the meditations help in raising the energies and making it fall. My writing and photography keep me busy.

The cover page of your book Travelthon Tales is really eye-catcher, can you share the details about choosing/designing it?

I give credit to my SEO team for it INFYINITH designed the cover of the book, they are very good with their design.

You’ve nicely explored some history and back story for many tales in “Travelthon Tales”. How do you collect these information? I mean, do you research for the places you are going to visit or you collect these information from local people and tour guides?

I do research from the net abut a destination lonely planet is the best for that, they give a lot of info about a destination. I Use tour guides especially when I am exploring monuments. I have written stories about tour guides also.

Of course, each and every tale is very dear to the author of the same. Can you tell us, which one/two of Travelthon Tales you love more?
  • A tour guides day
  • Getting thrown out of the Osho ashram
So far, based on your experiences, which of the Indian states you found more tourist friendly?
  1. Karnataka
  2. Uttar Pradesh
