Most of us live for ourselves, our family, our loved ones and a little more people. But there are people who makes difference and do something for the large scale segment of the society.
We always try to make such voice heard via this website, whenever we got to know about the same.
It is a website intended for the young people (<26 years) to come in, do register and be part of a campaign suitable to him/her. And we are glad to know that there are more than 2.2 people are already member of the website, making us believe that there is a large group of people who have humanity. The site is for US/Canada citizens only. It is one of the largest collaborative database of some good campaigns. People often think to help to the society or make it better, but then take a step back by thinking what can I do? His/her worries are like what difference he/she can make with small resources he/she have. But no matter, each drop counts.
For example think for this campaign Collcect Jeans! You can have a few jeans in your or your friends wardrobe which you can collect and they can be reached to the people who are still living homeless. So an unused thing already have with you can also be used for a good cause!
Same way, when you upgrade for a new cell-phone, you can donate your old one and it can be a help to domestic abuse survivors!
Same way you can stop bullying, collect old aluminum cans to recycle and more…
The website have slick and effective layout. The featured campaigns are on the homepage. There is a search form in the top-right, which let you search for any topic, eg. “cancer” to get more information about the same. A list of all the campaigns is available at: http://www.dosomething.org/campaigns. There is an easy way to join the site and campaign. FAQs are also answered well, and you got to know a lot about the site.
For good projects they even grant money and keep such thing initiated (or going), definitely they do take care to collect enough information about you and your project before granting anything to you. This is necessary to prevent misuse of the same.
Other motivational thing the site offer is scholarships. For example when you collect 50 aluminum cans, you will automatically entered to win $4000 scholarship! This motivates youth to do good things, and it will come back to them in proper manner! A nice way. As we are writing this, there are 177 winners are declared and total $6,07,400 are distributed in the same regards!
A website with good aspects. We hope it will grow up to open for all. A nice way to see how a small input can make a change, definitely source of motivation.
