Let us take a bird’s eye view of the plot of the episode.

Book Plot:

As we know, the kingdom of Mahishmati is on fire now. After putting the place on fire, the mysterious supporters of Pradhan Guru, did the same with the port! The port was one of the very important point of the kingdom. It is the hub of business, especially the one which was done through the routes of sea. Pradhan Guru, being an excellent strategist planned this attack in very detailed manner. No minor or even tiniest detail(s) are missed. He knew the weak points on the body of Mahishmati, which can break its backbone. And, he targeted them well.

The main headache for the authorities of Mahishmati is, though, they kept Pradhan Guru captured, his aides were spread in disguise through the kingdom and executing the steps of attack, they could have instructed about in advance. Until and unless they are identified, there is no way this disaster can be controlled.

While planning to counter this attack, Sivagami felt that the citizens need their support and the princes needs to be there with them. And, she is quite right. It is the responsibility of the ruler to stand with the citizens. Bhallaladeva was not very keen to leave Sivagami, not because of fear of her life, but he was worried that if Pradhan Guru spill the beans about his wrongdoings! See, when you have a dark secret, you need to worry a lot.

The attack was continued in full-fledged force. The next target was the godowns of grains and other produce. The men of Pradhan Guru put them on the fire too. So, now the trust of citizens on the authorities was at risk. They started sense a plan where the attackers want to trap them in the walls of Mahishmati without a trace of food! The things cannot be more dangerous.

Sivagami, on the other hand curious to know the reason of the hatred, Pradhan Guru has, for herself and her kingdom. She was clueless about, what possibly could have made Pradhan Guru think ill about either. Because, she, and thus the kingdom, invited him wholehearted, put in their princes under his command to get education, made him her chief advisor, and what not! Why then he is doing his best to destroy Mahishmati, while, he was expected to do everything in his power to save Mahishmati from anything wrong?

Well, you need to watch the episode to get answers of your questions 🙂 .

Views and Reviews:

Though, the episode can be seen primarily for the entertainment purpose, it actually brings a lot of life lessons. Like the wisdom tales of Panchtantra, this episode coneys many things which one needs to remember.

For example, here is a dialog from the episode:

You are fortunate to grow up by being pampered with love and affection, Baahubali. (Hence,) You have no idea, what fear and death can force people to do!

Doesn’t it hold the essence of wisdom which one can achieve through the experiences of life? Also, the way, Bhallaladeva was shut up by Pradhan Guru, proves that when you have dark secrets you become vulnerable. In such cases, despite knowing your duty or the path of Karma which you need to follow, you have to perform actions which you are forced to. Just remain loyal to yourself, your loved ones and perform your duties with honesty, and your life will not be complicated.

The story brings in many such messages, however, mentioning all of them here, will bring in spoilers, which we need to avoid 🙂

The script is convincing and written nicely. The dots started connecting well. Though, the reason why Pradhan Guru hated Mahishmati so much is not convincing. But, that is how humans with arrogant psyche get reason for doing what they want. It is all about their prejudices and the short-sightedness which lead them to error in judgement.

The dialogs are effective. They are short and crisp. Rather than using linguistically tough words, the writers used the day-to-day language, and it works positively for the episode.

The animation quality is good. Actually, our complaint about the portrayal for characters, especially their gestures and body language during their walk; remains there. It could have been a lot better. When you hear the name “Baahubali” you will expect visual splendours and larger than the life setup added with SFX and VFX in convincing manner. The episode fails in creating those impression.

The real heroes for any animated TV serial (after the animators, of course) are the voice over artists. They need to make the characters convincing, simply by effectiveness of their voice. The entire group of dubbing artists did their job really well. There are a couple of dialogs uttered by Sivagami (Manini Mishra) which could have been better, in terms of dialog delivery, but, overall, it is convincing.

The animation, in the broad aspects is good. Some scenes really goes well.

Summary:

Overall it is a nice episode, which brings in some real life lessons. For the entertainment purpose also, it is a good episode to watch.
