Ram Leela | Upcoming Hindi Movie | Songs Reviews | Part 1

Ram-Leela is an upcoming movie. It is in news due to various reasons including some controversies associated to the same. Even the tagline of the movie – Goliyon Ki Rasleela – is catching fire from some people. A Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is remembered for two things mainly the picturization/cinematography and the music/songs.

The songs of the movie are all uploaded by Eros on YouTube, so in addition to music/lyrics, the visual representation is also available for all of us on public domain.

Nagada Sang Dhol

Nagada Sang Dhol – is a typical dandiya oriented song which reflects the flavor of Gujarat and its folk music. As we know the Navratri – is the longest running music and dance festival of the world. Actually Navratri is a festival of 10 days (ends with Dashera and even at some place on Sharad Purnima – the full moon night following Navratri) which is dedicated to prey various Goddesses (actually the female power and hence all the Goddesses). Nowadays it became a fusion of folk songs, discos and garbas, but still the original flavor is preserved.

This song explores the typical Garba flavor pretty well. Even in the second half of the song, the entire Gujarati garba line played pretty well. From promo video it seems moving the story ahead. The music is fantastic for the song and it will definitely make you dance, and you will enjoy hearing the same.

Possibly the song will do (actually started doing so) the same for Deepika which – Dholi Taro Dhol from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam did for Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan).

The song was sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Osman Mir.

We like this song, the most in the entire album so far.

Ram Chahe Leela

Picturized on Priyanka Chopra this song can be considered as the item song of the film. However the tune of song is a little different than the usual item songs you hear. The rhythm of the song is fast and the moves of Priyanka are exotic. The typical flavor of folk songs of Gujarat can be sensed here as well.

This song is sung by Bhoomi Trivedi.

The music was given by Monty Sharma and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
