Let us take a bird’s eye view to the plot of this episode – The Master.

This Is Here In For You

Book Plot:

Let me start with a disclaimer that I will do my best to not to include any spoilers, but, you can understand that some of them are inevitable.

We see young katappa (who hadn’ lost his hairs yet 🙂 ) is performing a very tough journey. He is climbing very steep cold mountains which are almost vertical and almost unconquerable. However enforced with his will and strength, Katappa, is not the one who say die. He completed his journey successfully and reaches to the cave located at the top of the mountain.

Here we meet an aged lady through Katappa whom he refers as Guru-Ma. Despite being very old and having a very lean body, GuruMa is the warrior lady who can defeat anyone who challenges her, quite easily. Even an army cannot match her powers and fighting skills! There is some secret which she is guarding through generations!

She knew Malayappa (Katappa and Shivappa’s father) and king Mahadev (who later became king Vikramaditya, father of Baahubali) and she hate the fact that Katappa is a slave to the royal family through generations. She never approved of this slavery.

By the way, why Katappa has decided to pay her a visit which is one of the toughest journeys of his life? And will she be happy to see Katappa or simply ignore him? What is she guarding?

The tale then moves to the present times (and run parallel) so the link between the events happened in the past, and its impact in the current times can be analyzed quite easily.

Sivagami, Baahubali, Bhallaladeva and other in the royal court was informed that the army of barbarians is marching towards Mahishmati! The armed forces of Mahishmati have to be ready for the upcoming battle.

However, later, the spies bring in the news that the barbarians are stopped at a specific mountain and the interesting thing is, it is the same mountain which Katappa has visited years ago! Katappa got worried about Guruma and the secret lies there in the isolated cave on that mountain. He decides to go there to protect whatever is there. He was however not permitted to go anywhere during this battle time and being a slave and confidante to the Mahishmati rulers, he cannot disobey the orders!

So what is the fate of GuruMa and the secret she is protecting? What will be the impact of all these incidents on the fate of Mahishmati?

Well, I leave it for you to explore.

Views And Reviews:

Baahubali: The Lost Legends is getting better with each passing episode. By watching the first half of this episode, you can think that it could have been titled as The Legend Of Katappa; however once you watch the second half, you will affirm that the title of the episode is very accurate.

The steep mountain and the way Katappa climbs it is filmed in a thrilling way. The battle or rather we say fight scenes, are the heart of this episode. They are explored in very interesting manner. Be it Katappa’s training sessions or the fighting scenes against the Barbarians, they are convincing.

I, however, think that Katappa’s training sessions could have been explored in more detail. The length of the episode, however, doesn’t permit it.

The scriptwriter does his job nicely and the things started falling in place for those who have explored the fantasy tale of Baahubali through two films and a book (). The reference to Prince Mahadev aka Prince Mahadeva and Malayappa are building the links.

The dialogs are simple and effective. Here are some of the takeaways from the episode.

  • Every remarkable person has his/her secrets! (They can be good or bad)
  • You have to choose the right way and then need to keep following it, no matter what may come to the path.
  • Be the support system to those whom you love, respect or admire.
  • No pain, no gain. Nothing remarkable comes to your plate easily, you need to earn it.
You need to be eligible to have it.
  • Never trust anyone blindly without knowing his past/intentions.

The animations in this episode are of better quality than the previous episodes. It seems that the TV Serial is started in a little hurry in order to encash the Baahubali fever. Now, with the time and efforts, it is getting better. Of course, the title sequence and the palace and other areas of Mahishmati are already explored with better animation sequences since the first episode. But, the overall animation quality is not what is expected from it.

Think of Baahubali and you will think of visual splendor right? In that terms, the animation lacks the quality expected from it. We can, however, argue that as it is made up primarily for the children, so animation quality doesn’t matter that much.

The backbone of the TV Series is the dubbing quality and acting of voice over artists. They are the real heroes who ignite the screen with their performances. All of them perform really well and made the characters live, so full marks to them.

The background music is of very good quality. Right background music can make the impact of a scene multifold, and we can see it here.
