Being an Amazon prime member I am eligible to access Baahubali – The Lost Legends, and here is what I think of it’s first episode.

The Plot (Episode 1):

We will try to keep as many spoilers as the bay, but expect some of them.

The first episode explores the times of Mahishmati Kingdom when Bhallaladeva and Baahubali were 8 years old. Their characters are very much visible since then. While they were grown up together, Baahubali was pure at heart and have genuine feeling for his brother Bhallaladeva. On the other hand Bhallaladeva have responded with same affection in almost every scenario, he never let any one know what is running in his mind. He was good at concealing his emotions. He was jealous of Baahubali for all the good qualities he have, but, he never let anyone know his feelings.

On the other end, Bhallaladeva’s father Bijjaladeva have was an open book when it comes to his face. He was unable to conceal his emotions (Bhallaladeva himself mentioned it towards the end of the episode). Of course, he hate Baahubali and want the things to always run in favor of his own son Bhallaladeva.

There is an introductory sequence where Maharani Sivagami was doing a ritual and her life suspected into danger. How Baahu and Bhalla (that is what Sivagami called them with affection) behaves in this situation deduces their character. Also, how Bijjaladeva reacts is quite interesting to see.

It is then followed by the grown up princes were sent to learn from PradhanaGuru. In the Gurukul the training was very tough and during the training one day they witness robbers are looting a village and torched the houses there. Again how the princes react and how the situation comes under control is good to see. Also not to miss is the consequences of the scene.

Views And Reviews:

The production houses chose the content which is already hit. So the main things to look at (in addition to script) are the quality of editing and voice over.

As in animation series, the voice over artist need to make the animated characters live, with their convincing voice, their job gets even tougher. We must say that the voice over artists here are in full form and tries to remain in sync with the animated characters and scenes.

The background music is a plus point here. It impacts the content in positive manner.

The dialogs are simple and are primary aimed for kids and young adults. They are small and taken from day to day conversation.

When talking about Baahubali, the first thing comes to your mind is splendid visual arena explored on a celluloid. If you are going to expect (like me) the same quality of animation in this series, you will be disappointed. The animation quality is similar to Chhota Bheem, Little Krishna, Bal Ganesh, Shaktimaan (animated) and other similar TV series. So go watching it by expecting same and you will not be disappointed.

Summary:

Overall a nice try to animate the Baahubali series and explore the events which happened (fantasy) before the fictional events explore in the film. With good sound and average animation quality it will be liked by the kids most. And those who are Baahubali fans and want to explore the tale of Baahubali, will definitely like it without a doubt.

Watch out for our views for the next episode in the series soon.
