Let us take a bird’s eye view of the plot explored in this episode.
Book Plot:
In the previous episode, we were introduced to a new neighbor kingdom of Mahishmati, Jwalarajyam.
Jwalarajyam holds a treasure! The treasure of knowledge. It is said that whatever knowledge the people around the world possess, is documented and preserved in Jwalarajyam in a mammoth library. Located in the center of a dead volcano (in local languages, it is- JwalaMukhi, that is why the place is named as JwalaRajyam), the kingdom is surrounded by a deep lake and ethereal beauty. The kingdom is having the security blissed by nature, which is further nurtured by the genius engineering. The fort of Jwalarajyam is very strong.
Over the period of time, as it happens, the people who are more into knowledge and academic stuff got softer in terms of physical abilities and warrior skills. Jwalarajyam never interfered in the internal affairs of any other kingdom and other kingdoms never bothered Jwalarajyam to. Mainly due to the respect towards the knowledge they possess. It is said that you can go to Jwalarajyam’s library to find an answer to anything, and you will not be disappointed.
But the stupid, power-hungry barbarians! They don’t respect anything but the power. Knowledge, respect, inventions meant nothing to them unless of course, used in developing brutal weapons.
Disappointed by their defeat at Mahishmati, these invaders decided to attack Jwalarajyam!
The administration of the Jwalarajyam didn’t want to fight a battle. They wanted to come to a conclusion which makes both the sides happy. In order to save the kingdom from adverse effects of the war, they wanted to settle the things down. And, they made a fantastic offer to the Barbarians. They wanted to please the barbarians by gifting them one of the most precious scriptures as a token and they can go ahead with some more gifts too.
Do these gifts mean anything to the Barbarians? Will they call off the war and go away with the treasure of knowledge?
Sivagami knew that the kingdom of Jwalarajyam needs their support. As the things were fragile in Mahishmati also due to the recent invasion, Pradhan Guru suggested that they are not in the situation to send an army to Jwalarajyam. But, Sivagami cannot sit relaxed and do nothing. Ultimately, Baahubali along with some of his friends fro the Gurukul, decided to help Jwalarajyam. A group of few fellows against the army is not a match in any way right? Well, but as Jwalarajyam is ready to have a peace-treaty, will there be a war?

The story is getting better and interesting with each passing episodes. While it was not that much amusing in the first season, the second season covers it up nicely. It also gives the time to introspect the content of the first season and the way it built the things. Without that solid foundation, the things couldn’t have moved as it is in the second season.
The script of the episode is well written and nicely executed. The way the surrounding beauty and explanation about various stuff is elaborated in the script is then fantastically built in visual aspects by the animators. While we have downvoted the animation quality, especially for the characters and their gestures, the canvas on which the kingdom of Mahishmati and Jwalarajyam are built, is really fantastic.
The overall animation quality is not upto the expectations. However, one can argue that it falls in the category of Cartoon TV Serials like Chhota Bhim or Doremon, but, there are two points to consider. The first and foremost is of course, it belongs to the Baahubali series, and Baahubali movies are known for the visual splendor they provide. In addition the webseries is not marked as kids special on Amazon, the viewer group mentions it specifically. So we expected a better animation quality.
In terms of the content, as mentioned earlier, it is really good. Each episode in a way talks about importance of being knowledgeable, skillful, humble, brave and wise. In short, overall it leads to the discuss of good v/s evil and will show the importance of morals and ethics. Which is actually a good thing.
The dialogs are simple and short. It reflects the day to day language and the viewers will find it easy to absorb and connect with.
The psyche and behavior of various character is explored quite thoughtfully. The mindset of people living in a kind of academic world of Jwalarajyam gradually changed to soft. They don’t like violence in anyway. They want to live the calm and composed life and is a better civilization. At the same time, the invaders, the barbarians love the strength. And they believe in the principle of Jungle. Either eat or get eaten by others. They are that way more near to the life of Jungle then the society. For them the might is the only way of living. And if someone doesn’t belong to your group then, well, he or she must die. They don’t consider the brutal things wrong. For them its their way of life. The people from Mahishmati on the other hand, respects the knowledge and being civilized. At the same time, they know that, to keep the evil away you have to be strong enough. And the warrior skills are of course needed. So for them the motto is, inclination towards the soft skills can sustain only with hard battle power in possession. Also, the people of Jwalarajyam are soft in nature, but they are great at many things. Their love for innovations makes them stand apart from others. It feels good to explore such things on screen.
The background music is simply superb. It adds to the mood of the scene(s) it is associated with.
The makers took care of tinier pieces of detail when building characters and surroundings. Be it the clothing or ornaments, or even the palace or war field, or the roads and monuments, everything is full of details. In that way, it is a rich viewing experience.
The real heroes of the episode are the dubbing artists, who made the animated characters alive on the screen. Each of them deserves the equal credit.
