Let us take a brief look at the plot of the movie:

The plot as it unfolds

Go back to where it all began.
– From Movie

As we know the first living creature came to existence on Earth was having “a single cell”. From that single celled organisms “minions” came to existance. So we can say they are existed since the beginning! The sole purpose of their existance was to serve the most despicable master of the time.

They, of course, served many great masters through the centuries. The interesting thing is they have accidentally killed most of their master while serving them 🙂 Making them even more unique right?

There come disastrous end to their service when they last served Nepolion. Since then they have isolated themselves from the living world and hid themselves in a large cave in Arctic!

Though, due to their nature of being enthusiastic, overactive and always being on to something; lead them to depression during this inactive life. Now, in order to survive they need to come out and find out the right master for them.

It require a lot of courage to take initiative of such big task, after specifically this much amount of time in isolation. So who comes forward for that? Well as said in the movie:

Meet Stuart, Kevin & Bob

Yes, they are the 3 minions who came forward for the task.

Will they be able to find their new master? How? And who it will be?

All these questions are better explored while watching it.

Views and Reviews

The movie is also criticized for some of the stuffs it have. But the main thing, which is the soult of the movie, is the reason why the movie was made?

Because they are bright (in colors) and looks simple; and most importantly the viewers love them. What else you need 🙂

Being an animated movie, it has to rely on the following factors:

  • The Plot
  • Voiceover artists
  • Animation (including SFX and VFX)
  • Background music
  • and some other factors

As we took a brief look at the script (there is much more in the story including heists, which we have skipped talking about, to avid spoilers), you might have got the little idea about the plot. It is quite interesting. While many people talks about the abilities of the minions are way superlative for their appearances, we have to understand that it is a fantasy film. As much as the target audience enjoys the stuff, it is good for movie, at least in terms of commercial aspects.

The animation is really commendable. While there is not much chance to apply something singificant in the appearance of minions themselves (as people already have an image of them in their mind), the locales and setups are the main areas where the experts needed to work. And they succeed there, without a doubt. For example the scene where the heist takes place, you will really enjoy watching it like in the regular thriller movies.

The background music is a positive aide to the content of the movie. The scenes are much more effective due to right kind of background music.

The voice-over artists did their work really well, and just naming one will be injustice to the others, be it Sandra Bullock (Scarlet) who is convincing or Pierre Coffin who gave voice for the minions (guess how many, all the three main, and 100s of others! yes, you read it right); they are really great performers.

The video and audio quality of the movie is really good and you will enjoy watching it on small screen, cinema hall or home theatres alike.

All new mini-movie

The movie was block buster on the box office, it’s earning reached to billions; making it one of the most successful movies of the year, and the Despicable Me series. It was recieved well by critiques also. Here are some of the awards it was nominated for in various categories.
