Accesibility survey for blind users by Google | News

It is no hidden truth that we are being more and more dependent on the Internet day by day especially in order to get the latest information or news. What about the people having physicial disability preventing them doing so? Especially the people with challenged vision capacity or blind people. We know that there is voice recognition available for them and blah blah blah…

Is voice recognition really living upto the hype, or is it practically possible to have the quality of accuracy and ease to use the same in the real world? Well, there is no doubt that the technology is doing its best to overcome the challenges, but the factors affecting the same (eg. too much of the background noise, or pronounciation differece, person to person) are not that easy to overcome. Who can give us the best idea about ease of use and experiences of using the same; better than the users of the same?

Google is working on the task to provide the better ways to interact with the Internet to the blind community. They have launched a survey, which will be there to participate in, till mid of the september at http://www.acb.org/googlesurvey. Why not try it once and share your views to help them understanding the user’s point of view in the better manner. May be you have something really valuable to share with, which in-turn may lead to the better product for the end users. OR may be you know someone who really needs to use these tools; there is no alternative of the experience of the person who actually needs to use it.

Have your say…
