Through the investigative interviews with the detective Hart and detective Cohle (done separately) the quest to hunt for the answers about the murder of Dora Lange continues in the second episode of the tv serial True Detective.

The incidents from the year 1995 are in talks now. They continued the investigation of the murder and got a lead. They found that Lange was attending church prior to her disappearance. As Dora was found dead in a gesture of performing some ritual, it is an important clue.

The things in the life doesn’t proceed in expected manner. The conversation between court reporter and Hart, raise some doubts in the mind of Cohle that Hart is cheating Maggie (Hart’s wife) with her! It creates the tense situations between them both.

Well, the life is not straight forward for Cohle as well! He experience some hallucinatory side effects to his drug consumption. He was under the impression that Billy is lobbying a task force which focuses “anti-Christian crimes”.

He decided to explore it and eventually got a lead to a remote ranch. The ranch was a place where runaway girls were harboured after capturing. During a conversation with a underage prostitute Beth, he found a clue which lead him to Lange’s diary.

Will the diary explore the incidents and expose her possible murderer?! Well, you need to wait and watch. But we sense that the detective duo, eventually started Seeing Things!

Is Hart really cheating his wife? Doesn’t he care for his happy family by doing it (if he is doing it)? He got two lovely daughters with Maggie as we know by now.

Well, the second time frame segment which is focused on the incidents happened in 2012 says that Hart is now divorced! We also got to know that Cohle’s marriage was also collapsed after his daughter was died after being involved in a car accident! So are the lives of both the detective follow eventually similar (unhappy) path?

The dialogs explore the situations properly, but you need to be very attentive. If you don’t pay proper attention, the chances that you miss some important bits, are high. Sometimes you may see the background music takes over the things. The so far visited segments of the TV serial explores the complicated lives and we see no happy and complete family! Call it a reality of too much freedom but uncontrolled wishes lead to such situations. Also seeing the officials involved in unofficial activities may not be liked by many viewers.

There are some adult scenes which makes it strictly for mature audience. Even some of the dialogs fall in the same category. The team have placed a lot of efforts in finding proper locations for the shooting and it is quite evident. Almost all the locations are just perfect. They represent the scene in the way expected.

The episode belongs to Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey and both of them plays their role convincingly. The are equally competent actors. See their body language, gestures, way of talking and expressions in different time segments (1995 and 2012) and you will realise that they are realistic. It is tough to represent the character in two different age groups, and they both does it effectively. Michele have comparatively less to do, she is good enough for the stuff though. Lisa Tragnetti looks pretty and exposes at the level she require to. It will not be wrong to say that a specific group of viewers like to watch the episode for her scenes only. The many clips from the episode involving her adult scenes circulating in video sharing websites like YouTube proves it.

The writers have put in a lot of efforts in creating a murder mystery which is explored in large time frame. At places you may find the things are getting slower, but overall it maintains the pace.

It is strictly for the crime thriller lovers, who have passions and like to see it mystery being resolved step by step; and don’t mind watching some adult screen material. If you fall in the same category, you will enjoy it for sure.
