After so many rumors about and so many leaked pictures and news, the actual iPhone 5 is ultimately launched!
Of course there are lot many features and people may want some more stuff too( 🙂 ). Let us take a quick look at some of the stuff.
The phone is slimmer than the previous version. If you go statistically, it is 18% slimmer. So it will occupy less space in your pocket (and make your pocket even lighter – by its price :)). In terms of weight its 20% lighter and overall 12% less volume it contains.
There is no need to say that black and white two colors are available for you.
It is equipped with 4″ Ratina display so you can expect more depth in terms of colors and clarity in the display. The display consists of 326 pixels per inch! and it supports the resolution of 1136 x 640 (more than the earlier CRT monitors).
iPhone 5 is around 9 MM taller than iPhone 4S but the width is the same. The company took this decision so people can still pick the phone in the palm and can easily type.
iPhone 5 is made using LTE (the next generation wireless technology) and it support all major wireless technologies available around the world including HSPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA. If you look at the theoretical speed a wireless technology support it could be the following:
- GPRS: upto 0.04 MBPS
- EDGE: upto 0.38 MBPS
- EV-DO: upto 3.1 MBPS
- HSPA: upto 14.4 MBPS
- HSPA+: upto 21 MBPS
- DC-HSDPA: upto 42 MBPS
- LTE: upto 100MBPS
However these are theoritical limits and the practical scenario is different; but we can still surely expect a lot better speed support from iPhone 5.
It uses A6 chip which is almost twice faster than A5 chip, making the device response fast in all the aspects. The chip is also customized to work with iOS6 more compatibly and hence provides better battery life. It is claimed that it supports up to 8 hours of browsing on a cellular connection, up to 8 hours of talk time, and up to 10 hours of video playback time.
Great right?!
