The monsoon this year turned into a dangerous phenomenon recently, in India, especially in Uttarakhand. The people who went there for tour or mainly pilgrimage of Kedarnath temple are amongst the hugely affected. Of course, the locales are affected largely. The death toll is growing. Google came up with a project where you can search for people affected by name and/or you can submit the information if you have to report. Note that these are the public records and may not be accurate, but they are definitely helpful with the information they bring.

google.org does contain similar project for various areas of the world whenever needed. The people who are working on these project are doing nice work too.
