Monisha Sarabhai V/s Maya Sarabhai | Antakshari Competition Episode | Reviews

Maya is preparing the luggage for Indavadan as he has to go to Baroda with Madhusudanbhai. Though due to the nature of Madhusudan, Indu aka Indravadan Sarabhai was not ready to accompany him. Maya on the other hand was sending him with Madhusudanbhai forcefully. After Indu convinced that he had no other option left but to follow Maya’s orders, he though it would have been better to travel via train rather than by Plane. Why? Well that is something you can know by watching the episode.

Movie : Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai
Writer : Aatish Kapadia
Director : Deven Bhojani
Genre : Sitcom
Starring : Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak, Sumeet Raghavan, Rupali Ganguly, Rajesh Kumar, Deven Bhojani, Arvind Vaidya, Rita Bhaduri and others

When Maya tried calm him down and explained that he need not to worry that much as Madhubhai is not that bad! Indu however started explaining some interesting experience with Madhubhai, who was having hearing problems. All the incidents are quite cool. When Maya was pushing Indu as he is getting late for his flight; Sahil and Monisha entered. We got to knew that Sahil had to attend some medical conference and they are going by same car. So the driver will drop everyone to their destinations one by one in the same route. Actually Sahil planned to go alone to attend the Medical related conference, which is obviously of no use for Monisha. But When Maya heard the same, she played her trick to force Sahil to bring her with him.

Though as predicted Monisha get bored there and came back. On return she found that her mother-in-law Maya, who keeps her telling that Antakshari is a middle class stuff and so and so; was found playing the same with her friends :). They have had some conversation, which took the usual path and ultimately it resulted into a challenge between both of them. The challenge is both claimed that they are better to play the game and can overpower the other easily. And the final outcome was an Antakshari duel between Maya’s team and Monisha’s team. Sahil became a sandwich between both and both were emotionally blackmailing him to took their side respectively.

The final teams were:

Monisha’s Team:
Monisha Sarabhai, Indravadan Sarabhai, Roopkumar Rathod, Rosesh Sarabhai
Maya’s Team:
Maya Sarabhai, Sarita, Sahil Sarabhai, Sonali Rathod

The rules were also something different like: Every member of each team have to sing at least one song, otherwise the team will lose automatically. Parodies of the famous songs needs to be sung etc.

We leave it for you to view the episode and know who won the competition. The high point which should be the Antakshari competition doesn’t live up to the expectations (might be our expectations are too high here!). The other incidents are hilarious and will definitely make you laugh. Well, in the days when cheap comedy shows are also there which goes via double meaning dialogs and acts, vulgarity and similar; this seems to be a shadow of the banyan tree in the hot desert of summer. The DVD quality is good and the acts of the main cast members is brilliant. Rajesh made his own place by playing Rosesh uniquely, then you cannot imagine anyone else as Monisha then Rupali. Satish Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah plays their part effortlessly and so convincingly, you can simply say Kudos to them. Sumit Raghavan is underplays a sophisticated doctor pretty well. The background music is really matching the incidents running. Especially various sounds like Yaa! and others. The screenplay and dialogs are cool. Deven Bhojani proves again that he might have limited acting skills (have you seen him Agneepath recently!) but when it comes to the direction, he is really genius. Overall, it gives you best value for your money and time and you should go for it, as per our opinion.
