Vishwaroop | Vishwaroopam | Hindi Film Reviews

Based on the skills of Kamal Hasan and the diversified work he have presented till date, his films are considered as must watch films. Kamal Hasan is considered as the most versatile actor of India who is having probably the best knowledge of almost all the aspects of the film (including but not limited to acting, direction, action, dance, craft, etc..). The latest film by Kamal Hasan titled – Vishwaroop (aka Vishwaroopam) – was recently in the news. There was also a controversy associated with the movie, but let us have our personal reviews about the movie itself.

The movie is about a man for whom – the nation is his dharma. Nothing is more important to him then his nation be it his personal interest or even his religion. The plot of the movie reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer – True Lies. Of course both the movies are having different canvas and attributes but the theme is similar.

A lady is bores with her domestic life with his so straight forward and genuine husband who is a dance teacher. She finds her smooth life no more interesting. So she decided to spice up her life. She developed soft corner with his boss whom she find interesting and charismatic. She decided to marry him. But she is already married, so she need to divorce her husband first. And in order to file a case of divorce she need some stuff to say against her husband. But her husband was clean, no extra-marital affair, or not anything to complaint against. But if nothing is wrong, how can she will be granted divorce? So she decide to use a private detective to follow his husband and hopeful to find at least something against him, based on which she can ask for divorce!

She implement her plan… and it make her world to move upside down! Truth reveals about her husband are shocking and lead them to the dangerous world of the terrorism!!!

The movie this point forward is out and out action thriller. The movie is a nice cinematic experience to watch. Watch the body language of Kamal Hasan as a dance teacher, as a fighter etc. and you will realize that why he is considered as the film institute in himself. We see Shekhar Kapoor after long on the screen, he has not much to do but he makes us feel his presence. Rahul proves a good antagonist. Rest of the cast members play their part well. After watching so many action thrillers and spy movies with quality works, you may not be much thrilled by watching the movie. But let us tell one thing straight forward, the movie is a good action thriller, definitely much better than some of the recent hits and box office success. However sometimes you may feel that behind the glorious craft, you miss the soul of the movie. There are no popular songs in the movie, nor was the scope for the same. The cinematography and sound are good. The movie has the emotional quotient as well, which is well-balanced.

The theme of the movie makes us remember the famous saying of Chankya – “Mera Rashtra Hi Mera Dharm Hai” (i.e. My Nation is my religion – in broad meaning). There are so many intelligence officers and spies of all the countries, does their duty by sacrificing their personal lives, and that is the reason for that nation to exist. We must not forget those real heroes, whose tale never comes to the light, due to several reasons. The movie is a tribute to such heroes.

Also the movie ends in a way that there is a chance to have sequel of the movie.
