Hawaa Hawaai | Bollywood Movie | Hindi Film | Personal Reviews

Hawaa Hawaai is the latest film by ace film maker (well, we can say that) Amol Gupte. It is a Kids Special Film but it is not only for the kids, actually it has more to offer to the elders.

We often said that making a film for kids, which is good at content, is not a kid’s job. It is very tough and unless you have heart and mind at the right place, you cannot do it successfully. Amol Gupte proved his metal through the films like Taare Zameen Par and Stanley Ka Dabba. Of course, he was not the director of Taare Zameen Par, but, we know his contribution to the film, as the matter of fact.

Kushnapelli, Salman Chhote Khan, Ashfaque Bismillah Khan, Maaman Memon, Mahesh Kumar, and others…

Some segments of his film no doubt makes you remember two fantastic films Ehsaas : The Feeling (director: Mahesh Manjrekar) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar (Mansoor Khan); but the film has its own canvas. It is explored really well. The acting by the kids, is the USP of the film. They are all natural and convincing. Amol have a growing actor in his son Partho, and both father-son duo knows their job really well. It in one way or the other, reminds other fantastic father-son pair in the industry (working in similar manner); Rakesh and Hrithik Roshan.

The screenplay of the film is the essence of the same and the director walks on the path with proper balance. Amol Gupte is in full form. He made a proper mixer of emotions, thrills, motivational and emotional stuff, reality, idealism and other human attributes. He is equally supported by his team of actors (rather than star cast, for this film, we like to use this term). Partho and Saqib Saleem are top performers of course. But rest of the cast supports them in equally fantastic manner.

The cinematography is excellent. The climax is filmed really well. There are sparkles through out the movie. There are some dull scenes as well. But in most cases, the movie is gripping. Another important factor is, the movie is for entire family, which is comparatively rare these days. The background music of the movie suits the stuff going on the screen. And there are places where it (background music) adds fantastically to the emotional quotient of the viewer. The songs are good, but if they could have been better, it will add even more positive stuff to the movie.

It explores the tale of a slum kid who works at a tea-post. The story explores two young brothers’ lives as well, one of whom is settled at USA and other lives in Mumbai, India. He is a skating instructor and he is preparing his team of students for the next championship. His brother from USA paid him visit and insists him to come with him and settle for the good life (at USA). However he decide to pay attention to his students and the championship, before moving ahead in any other direction.

Somehow the young boy working at the tea-post, comes in touch with the skating instructor and his team of student. He was fascinated with them all. He then see a dream, dream to learn skating. But when found that the skattng shoe he like are imported ones and cost around INR 2,50,000; he was heartbroken. But when you have true friends, how can your heart break like that! They hatch a plan and by taking the specifications of those scats, they create their own, from the waste!!!

Impressed with these efforts the teacher decide to teach him scatting and making him ready to participate in the championship! But, life is not that easy. It looks like unachievable goal and unrealistic dream. But where there is a will, there is a way. There comes lot of hurdles their way, and the result is predictable. But the way it is explored, is really fantastic.

The movie is definitely worth watching, or rather we like to say, not to be missed.
