Recently we got a chance to read her debut book “Done With Her…”. You can read our book review to know more about the same at:

The linguistic quality of the book and the genre chosen by the author made us curious to know more about Chirasree. And, what could have been a better alternative than an author interview? Our approach to her for the same met with a positive outcome and from our team, I have had a small Q/A session with her which I would love to share with you all.

Hi Chirasree,
Greetings from team ThinkerViews…!
We are glad to have a conversation with you. Thank you for sparing some time to have a Q/A session with us. How is the response for your debut short Ebook? BTW, you’ve got a nice name 🙂

Thank you 🙂
Most of the readers are liking it. There are definitely some negative reviews as well. However, I believe it only proves that I have managed to ignite diverse emotions within them. On the whole, I am extremely happy with the response._Wishing to receive the same love for the paperback as well.

It is a kind of cliché question, obviously, you are feeling joyous, accomplished and happy. Each time we are able to follow our passions the way we want to and getting a positive response on the course, we feel, inching more towards completeness. Do you think so?

Yes absolutely. I am immensely happy. However, I know I still have a long way to go.

Can you tell us more about yourself, your background, your profession, and your passions?

I hail from Kolkata. I’ve always had a knack of doing creative stuff such as painting, writing, and creating handmade things. By profession, I am a writer, editor and software engineer. Writing is my passion.

What draws your interest in writing?

The fact that I can make a difference through my words. I believe writers are blessed with this inherent ability.

Can you tell us what inspired you to write “Done With Her…”?

This story conveys a very imperative message. The sort of news and articles I’d come across before penning down this novella made me want to write a powerful story around this phenomenon

A debutante author chooses to play safe, can you tell us what made you to choose “dark romance thriller” genre?

I don’t like to play safe. I had to push my limits to the edge of writing ability in order to pen down this story. I am utterly glad that I did so. There are enough people on earth to choose the safe way. I’d rather choose one that helps me and my readers grow.

The book conveys an important message, of course. According to you, why should one read this book?

One should read the book to understand the need for love. It’s not as simple and frivolous as people like to believe it is.

Can you tell us which part of the book you’ve enjoyed writing more? (Of course, you want to avoid spoilers).

I enjoyed writing the ending. I love it. I know some of the readers wanted a different one. But I enjoyed every bit of it.

Can we see Chirasree writing a book/books in other genres? Is there a book already in writing? Can you tell us something about it, if so?

A book is definitely in writing 🙂 I wouldn’t say much about it at this moment. However, I enjoy writing and reading satires. So who knows, maybe…

Can you tell us more about your writing regime? Are you a method writer or an impulsive one?

I am a very methodical writer. I make sure that I write at least 500 words everyday.

The book cover plays an important role in bookselling, were you involved in the book cover designing process? How much?

I myself have designed the Kindle edition book covers. However, for the paperback one, I’d give the credit to my publisher. Of course, I was involved in the process. But it’s them who realised and turned my vision into reality.

Can you share your experience of the journey from writing your first book to getting it published?

In one word, it’s amazing. Rather, it’s been (to date) a rollercoaster ride. I have been happy, sad, worried, disheartened, and even jumped for joy at various occasions. Because, of course, it’s my debut book.

Every book affects its author in some way. How do you think writing ‘Done With Her…’ affected you?

Every story that I write leaves an impact on me. Done With Her… was no different. In fact, I’d never written such a dark story before. Hence, I am extremely grateful to my family and friends for putting up with my mood swings 🙂

Who are your favorite authors whom you love to read?

I love to read Agatha Christie‘s work. They are my all time favorites. Also, I enjoy reading Novoneel Chakraborty‘s romance thrillers.

Which are the book(s) you are reading currently?

I am reading two books.

What are your hobbies apart from writing?

Painting. It’s been my hobby ever since I was 8.

That’s great to know :). What do you think about video trailers of the book(s) which are an almost inevitable part of marketing these days?

I’d love to have one for my book. 🙂

What is your opinion about EBook readers and their impact on the generation overall?

I myself prefer eBooks. It’s just a handy way for me to manage my library. However, I agree that the feeling of sniffing at a new book is heavenly for book lovers.

Do you love to read traditional printed books more or EBooks?

Like I said, I prefer eBooks.

What are your opinions about various social networks and the way it can be used to spread awareness about some important cause around the globe?

Social networks can definitely be used to spread awareness about some serious issues. However, just sharing those news followed by a sad smiley is not going to help.

Did you grow up hearing moral and ethical stories from parents/grandparents? If yes, how it affected your persona?

My grandmother used to tell me such stories. Those are the most cherished memories of my childhood. I believe it’s essential for every child to go through this experience. It helps strengthen their moral values.

Do you think that we are gradually losing the tradition of hearing “moral and ethical stories from grandparents”?

Yes, we are. Nowadays kids are busy playing games on mobile. They hardly have time to sit quietly and listen to stories. It’s largely affecting their generation.
