Rambo John J. – A hero loved by millions

An entire generation is grown up watching John Rambo doing the larger than the life actions on the screen. It played a vital role in establishing Sylvester Stallone as the star who can pull the crowds to the box office just by his name. You can compare the movies see the growth of Stallone as an actor, polishing himself with the dialog delivery skills and pronunciation and from a thin and muscular to heavy and muscular.

It all started a long ago when the producers and director have thought to make the book about John Rambo to be there on the silver screen. Of course, Stallone was not the first person to be approached to play John Rambo, nor the original story have the character of Rambo written in the way that it will be able to get sympathy of the people. In the original book, the character kills a lot many people while if you watch First Blood, you will realize that Rambo doesn’t want to kill anyone. When he was cornered by the soldiers and guard, he plays guerrilla and he makes them wounded and leave them. He even got captured Sheriff Will Teasel and puts his killer knife on his throat and then leaves him unharmed by warning him to not to push him.

Rambo was a rebel with a heart. He did a lot for his country and apart from a lot of praise and appraisal he have received the Medal of honor, one of the most respected awards. But it is often seen that the people who risk his own life for the country, countrymen sometimes forget to love them in the way they loved the country. This positive sides of the story makes Rambo John J. lovable. The bureaucrat and politicians play games with the country, countrymen and uses the power and force for personal interest and sidelines the true patriotic and humanity oriented intentions; turning the genuine fellows into the rebels.

The war is not only, what it is played on the borders or behind the enemy lines but it also includes what is being played within the country, state, city, home and even in the minds and hearts of the people. He gave some more words to the English dictionary (if not invented then also, made popular definitely) like, Expendable.

As mentioned earlier, Rambo is a man with heart (a lovely heart to be precise). In the third segment, he was working at a temple site and taking care of poor people and children, when he was offered a mission in Afghanistan, he refused, as he was tired of the political games played by the authorities. Though, his mentor Col. Samuel Trautman took the charges of the operation and was captured by Russians. Learning the same, Rambo doesn’t stops to think twice also, but goes to get him released from behind the enemy lines. He makes friends on the way, make sacrifices on the way and get loved by the people.

There can be tons of pages filled in with the stories and qualities which make Rambo a person who is in the memory of the people. This post is intended to be updated of course.
