Episode 9 of Baahubali: The Lost Legends (title: The Blood Moon) talks about how our perceptions blind us towards the facts and how can we resolve such situations.
Of course, this serial talks about some superlative stuff and some mythological fantasies, but, it also talks about believing in qualities and strengths. Like, earlier we had seen in one episode where we found that neither there is a ghost in the jungle nor there is any devil, it was a lion who was attacking humans by fearing them. So I strongly recommend you to not to assume that this episode contains dark magic related stuff.

The last scene of this episode also shows us the importance of logic and presence of mind.
It is the human nature (or may be it is same in all the species) that we fear what we don’t understand or which is unfamiliar to us. Be it unknown places, unknown people or unfamiliar circumstances, we fear them.
Book Plot:
We see that a farmer family living on the outskirts of the city of Mahishmati was kidnapped by some unknown people/entities. A little kid in the family tries to hide himself unsuccessfully though.
Baahubali and Bhallaladeva came to see a huge pot which was closed and painted with some figures which are telling a story. Later we got to know that the royal priest brought it to study something important about a different culture. Curious about what possibly is inside it Baahubali and Bhallaladeva thought to open the pot. Baahubali took the lead and he found that the pot is mysteriously locket with a hair!!! He goes ahead unties the hair and open the pot.
At the same time royal priest of Mahishmati, along with Sivagami Devi, Bijjaladeva and others enter the scene. The royal priest shows his disappointment and asks Baahubali that he has untied some bad souls and it will result into a fatal curse for Mahishmati and its people! Baahubali apologized and explained his innocent intentions behind opening the pot and both he and Bhallaladeva confirms that the pot of was empty.
Bijalladeva, however, decided to turn these tricky situations in his favor.
What will happen now? Will the citizens of Mahishmati be under any threat? Does the kidnap of the farmer family we have witnessed in the beginning of the episode is linked with this event? All these questions are answered in this episode.
Views And Reviews:
This episode talks about an important issue, how our beliefs and prejudices about unknown stuff makes us blind towards the reality and how we fell victim to conspiracies.
In terms story and plot line, Baahubali: The Lost Legends is getting better and better. In fact, this episode is titled very properly. How the royal priest explains the curse on the kingdom with the reference of the “blood red moon” is one of the main key points of the episode. And the script writer brilliantly shows a clear, glowing moon at the end of the episode to show that the curse is over.
Here are some of the lessons to learn from this episode:
- We fear the unknown. And, knowledge is the only weapon to fight this fear.
- When we believe that there is a problem, running away from it is never going to solve it. We need to get to the root of it and had to put efforts to get it resolved.
- True friends are the real boons. They can be more dependable than the blood relations.
- Words can deceive us. Those who speak sweat to us may not be our well-wishers always.
- Respect others, it is the only way you can get respect from others. This is the best way to earn friends and allies.
The animation quality is getting better with each passing episode. However, I still don’t find the characters convincing when they are walking, fighting, running and other some other activities.
The dubbing quality is excellent and it is infused with a superb background score. The animation during the title sequence is effective too. We can say that the voice-over artists are the real heroes of the episode. They did their job convincingly. The script writer added the substance to the content by dramatizing it in proper proportion. The dialogs are simple and effective.
The Baahubali film series is known for being a visual splendour and thus we consider the animation quality a let-down for this TV Serial.
