So, as the name suggests, the movie is about a game played by a fellow. The movie is actually based on a Gujarati play which is commercially hit and loved by critics too. The movie is having good performances from seasoned actors like Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, Boman Irani, Om Puri and others, making us curios to go for the movie. A lot of actors of this movie have slashed their fees to half only to let Paresh Rawal fulfill his long awaited dream of having his successful Gujarati play to be on the celluloid. (The original play started playing in the ’80s).

Let us take a look what it has to offer and whether it is worth to go for:

Mr. JaySinh Adenwalla, a very successful film producer of his time, was driving a car, he was half asleep and a little drunk(!) too. He was unable to control the car properly and during a nap he got the car crashed. Subhash Sharma- a small crook played with an ATM machine and stick his chewing gum there. When a fellow came to get some cash, his transaction was completed successfully but the chewing gum got the money stuck within. Furious fellow tried to get the money unsuccessfully and once he is out, Subhash comes in and collects the money! As he was near to the crash site, he saves Mr. Adenwalla from death by helping him out of the car before an electric poll bumps onto the car. Then he help Mr. Adenwalla and drops him to his home via a taxi.

After they both reach to Mr. Adenwalla’s house safely. The had a brief discussion and at the same time Mr. A. D. Merchant (advocate of Jaysinh) and Adenwalla’s wife reach there. The conversation between Mr. and Mrs. Adenwalla shows that everything is not well between them. Adenwalla’s wife was much younger than him. Merchant tried giving some money to Subhash which he refused. When Subhash was about to leave Adenwalla asked to stay in his outhouse as it is very late night and Subhash has to go very far. Mrs. Adenwalla was not in agreement with Mr. Adenwalla’s decision and bluntly said Subhash to leave, but due to Adenwalla’s force, Subhash decided to stay there for the night.

When he is on the way to outhouse there is small confrontation happened between Subhash and Mr. Adenwalla. Subhash asked her that he will leave in the morning. But in the morning when she sees Subhash, she got furious and asked why he is not left yet. Subhash says that Mr. Adenwalla appointed him for a job! During the course we got to know that Mallika (wife of Adenwalla) was one of the girls auditioned for his film, when he was a successful film maker. They eventually get together and good time of Adenwalla got over as well. Adenwalla is now always found drunk.

Mallika try unsuccessfully to get Subhash caught in wrong claim. Which make the things get worst between them. Over the course, there happens a death, who got dead? Was it a death or murder? Who did it? What about the property belongs to the dead person? There are so much to go on in the rest of the movie.

The most positive factors of the movie are the acting by the principal cast. Paresh is looking much younger in the movie, his body language is fantastic. Naseer is first rate as always. Boman plays his part well. Tara Sharma was let own by her poor dialog delivery (and voice especially). The screenplay have flows. Sometimes it is nice, sometimes it fails keeping momentum. The movie doesn’t reach to the level of the original play somehow. There is no scope of typical songs in this movie. The background music is good. Overall a nice try, which could have been better. Though we must say it is much better than some of the most hyped movies released during these days, which are having larger than the life sets, skin-shows, poor storyline and average performances.

You can watch it once at least, definitely.
