Haider Ali is now in his youth. It was day of Eid and as per his father’s promise he (his father) should be at home by the time. However Sheikh Fateh Mohammed was not reached home yet and Haider is upset. There is nothing wrong in that though, for children, the parents means the world. It is pure love and affection which makes a child unhappy when he/she unable to find his/her parents nearby. Maya is the only convincing actor during this conversation scene though.

They (Haider, his mother and brother) found that a group of people approaching. They all thought it is Sheikh and his men. So they got happy and ran to meet him. But they see some unknown soldiers. They sense something wrong, and to prove them true, a solider kicks a dead body from the back of a horse. It is Sheikh’s body!!! Is he dead? Seems he was killed, but by whom? why? when? and how?

Tahir Khan shows no mercy on Shahbaaz, Haider Ali and their mother. He captures the brothers and prison them into big Nagadas (huge drums) and orders his men to play them! It was brutal experience for both the brothers. The solders forcing the brothers into drums look a little fake. How Sheikh’s wife escape and reaches to a relative named Haider’s place is good to watch on screen.

Haider’s wife was not happy with the incident and was unwelcoming for this trouble. Haider however attacks the place where Shahbaaz and Haider Ali was kept and get them free. Later we see that the path was full of thorns for Late Sheikh’s family. Haider is very supportive and genuine but his wife was rude and misbehaving with Haider Ali, Shahbaaz and their mother.

Haider brings the brothers to king Vaadiyar (who also shows poor acting)’s court and start giving them war training. Guns were getting famous and taking place along with the swords those days. Why we see the Mughal and other Muslim arts in the court of king Vaadiyar? Definitely the affection between Hindu-Muslim was at great there, but the sculptures, interior and other stuff should reflect the attributes of the court of king properly. The set is nice otherwise.

The episode explores the bad time in Haider Ali’s life. How he lost almost a major part of his possession all of a sudden and how the anguish was filled within him, is the key content. The episode explores that no one can fought alone and there are genuine people like Haider, who helped Late Sheikh’s family after his death. The episode also conveys the message that ups and downs are part of life but one should not lose faith in himself.

Majority of the cast underperforms. A lot of unconvincing act is seen in this episode. The dialogs are first rate though. The sets are convincing apart from a couple of exceptions. The wardrobe is authentic. We must note that the episode is based on a novel and never claim to represent the historical facts. But the dramatized version is quite convincing and good to watch. Today when we see a lot of TV serials made to encash the popularity of historical figures, which not only stretches the content and over dramatize the incidents, but also adds some incidents to the main story; this serial is quite stick to the book it is based upon. The background music is also a must mention. After dialogs, it is the other major positive attribute. If the DVD quality can be made better, by restoring the content digitally and remastering the same, re-dubbing some stuff; it will be more effective.

The episode also explores the religious approach as well. When everything seems to be in-effective or out of control, one seeks some divine help! In one such incident when Haider Ali got very ill, he was also taken to a holy place. It was revealed there that Haider Ali is already blessed with good fortune and the good time is awaiting him.

We are also curious to witness it.
