Are we open to watch something which challenge our perception for a specific entity? Since we are kids, we know about Superman. A man who is having power to overcome all the odds. He is the most powerful man. He is the only superhero who can fly without any aids, using his own abilities and power. He wears blue suit and wears red under-garment over it! There are many jokes cracked on that (undergarment over suit), but it is popular and people love it that way.

After working extensively on The Dark Knight about Batman, Christopher Nolan and other writers/producers thought to go for doing same with the – Superman – films. Though – Dark Knight – series is welcomed and praised, the superman movie isn’t that well received. Allowing the writers the cinematic and creative liberties, we can say the movie is a good experience to watch – in segments.
Some special effects are really fantastic and it made the stunts and fights the best, in the entire superman series of movies. The makers played with several stuff, including the costume of Superman. Even the word – superman – came to hear for the first time at the end of the movie. He is considered as the Man Of Steel till then.
The makers, of course shown some creative genius by adding the back story of what possibly could have been happened at Krypton (the planet where The Superman – The Man Of Steel, originally belongs). The creation of that planet, its atmosphere, the spaceships etc. is really appreciable. The dialogs have flairs at places. So if to talk from the technical or visual angle, the movie is nonetheless the delightful cinematic experience for sure.
Though it is the journey of Kal-El; who is known as Clark Kent. The entire story starts in the flashback. Which is possibly the first backdrop of the movie. We are used to watch the superman’s journey in the linear way. Here some scenes of his youth turns into his childhood days via flash backs and comes back in the current time. The audience doesn’t find it very interesting for this tale.
Also the introductory look of the Superman with beard and chest hair is also different than the image of superman in people’s mind. Also, the movie is not more of superman adventures but instead more about his background and as said earlier his possible journey to became the man whom we know as superman. And the makers are clearly planning the sequels of the film, which may lead to the superman adventures we are familiar with. It would be interesting to see the future installments of the movie for sure.
If to talk about performances all the lead actors played their part remarkably well. Crediting a few will be injustice to the other. But, still it is Henry Cavill who need to lead the film on his broad shoulders and he does it. Russell Crowe is the nice choice for the role of Jor-El. Kevin Costner and Diane Lane have nothing much to do but they play the scenes they have, with confidence. Amy Adams is convincing as press reporter (and later love interest of superman). Michael Shannon plays the main antagonist General Zod effectively. Laurence Fishburne looks completely different than the editor-in-chief of the newspaper as we know. Antje Traue is effective. Aylet Zurer got very few scenes.
The background score is good in the fighting and action scenes. It could have been better at other places. The dialogs are not very witty, but they are simple and makes impact. The cinematography is quite good and stunt coordinator did his job pretty well too. The director knows his job and he follows the script commendably. He worked on some emotional scenes really well, for example Clark holds up himself from coming in-front with his suprpowers, when his father sacrifice, young Clark tries controlling his mind to focus on his parent’s advice, Clark runs away by saving a person from being drowned, Clark’s bond with his parents on Earth, Lois stand for Clark before last fight,.. to mention a few.
We are not revealing much of the story as it may contain the spoilers which can affect the joy of watching it.

It is a good cinematic experience and really enjoyable. It is quite different than the story of superman as we know.
